Damjan Pejcinoski (born October 25, 1984), is a Macedonian
guitarist, specializing in many styles of music including jazz fusion, gypsy
jazz, blues, rock, country, traditional, and many others. Damjan began playing
guitar at the age of 6, but his real interest started at age 14. After
graduating from high school in his hometown Ohrid, where he still lives today,
he enrolled in the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia
and NBU University in a study program. He was accepted with a full scholarship
in the field of jazz and graduated with a Master’s degree.
Over the course of his musical career, Damjan has won
numerous national and international performances and awards. In June 2009, he
was a finalist in the global guitar competition, Guitar Idol, held in London.
In 2010, he won 2 international guitar competitions: Shred This Too and Ziua
Chitarelor in Romania. In May 2010, he represented his country as part of the
Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo as a participant on the stage, and in April
2013, was a soloist in The Presidential Orchestra of Belarus in Minsk, Belarus.
In July 2017, he held 4 concerts in China with his own gypsy jazz trio where he
received a personal award in a special ceremony from the Major of the city
Landzhou for Excellence in Performance. He also began teaching at a variety of
music schools, including the Faculty of Music in Skopje where he was Head of
the Guitar Department.
Damjan’s concerts, tours, and masterclasses have taken him
everywhere including Australia, China, the USA, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia,
Hungary, Romania, Kosovo, Macedonia, and many others. He has performed and
shared the stage with names such as Jeniffer Batten, Stu Hamm, Michael Lee
Firkins, and Andreas Oberg.
